Intercultural Conflicts

Every country has different cultures that people have to understand and be aware of the intercultural {***}MissingW. When people visit to some other countries, they always have culture shock and makes them feel confuse about the cultural differences. Because foreign visitors are not familiar with the country which they are visiting, they might run into the intercultural conflicts and misunderstanding those cultures. Actually it is easy to understand other countries' cultures. People who want to understand a culture, first of all, you have to know something such as values, beliefs, communication styles, and concepts of time,Punctuation then what people have to do is just enjoy and have fun in the country. In my country Taiwan, there are many foreigners came to travel or live in there. It is easy to see foreigners around a city. Sometimes they are confuseWForm something and will ask people questions but usually people in Taiwan they are too enthusiastic even they do not understand each other that what they are trying to say to each other.

People have to know that if you want to ask someone about political questions in their country, let the person understand why you want to ask the question or it is really rude. There areVTense many times people askVTense me about my country Taiwan and China. Foreigners always like to ask that why Taiwan is not a part of chinaCapitalization or do I want to be a part of china something like that.Cut It isCut really makes me feel uncomfortable with the questions they askedVTense. I don't even have the right to decide why Taiwan doesn't want to be a part of China because I live in America now. There fore, why a foreigner wants to give this kind of opinion and tell us where Taiwan should belong to. If people ask American why they are not part of other country, they must feel uncomfortable with it or be angry. It is strange when people ask the political question to foreigners, because no one could tell other countries' people where they should belong to. It is very rude and no sense to judge any people's country. If people want to visit any country, they must learn and respect other country first. Because every country have their own culture, if people who are not respect to other country, why the country's people have to be respect to those rude people.

The concept of time in Taiwan is very different with America. When I came to America, I was surprised about the line people are waiting for a long time in any place. Then I discover that every time if there are many people waiting for something, it is just because the windows' employees are too slow or there are not enough windows open for customers. There is an experience for me to get a driver license, it is just a card but I waited for like a year to get it and it is not just me, many of my friends also waited for a long time or even more. I could not understand why they could take so long time for just send a mail. If those kinds of situations happen in Taiwan, there would be many people mad about that store or department. Time is money, but in my country, time is money and more mental and physical efforts. People have to be hurryAwkward about their worksCount/Non-Count; they can not let the customers wait for a long time if the work is really easy to be done. It is easy to see from many stores if the store is very popular. People can see the popular stores' employees work very fast and practiced, all because they want to let their customers to feel good about their and come back again and again. If foreigners want to work or visit in Taiwan, they must know that there is not time for customers to wait or deal anything too long. Time is money; no one would like to waste their time for just wait something.

In conclusion, people have to understand and respect any cultural differences even you do not agree with. There is no one could judge other people's beliefs or cultures, even though people may have intercultural conflicts sometimes, but maybe that is because you did not understand too much with other country's cultures. People want to feel comfortable in a country; they must understand the difference between their cultures first.
