The meaning of the circle is a sun. the reason of this is Japanese people have a lot cared about rising of the sun since long time ago. This is rare that red symbolize the sun. The color which symbolize sun is normally yellow or gold and red seems like a lucky color in Japan, so the national flag of Japan includes sun on the front. All people who could get a great authority want to show their authority to people and they need the symbols of their authority to keep showing their authority to people. The king Tutankhamen's a flail and the covered staff in Egypt to show he had a great authority at the time. Pyramids are also the symbol of king Tutankhamen's authority. Pyramids are the graves for kings in Egypt in long time ago. Kings wanted to keep the symbols of their authority after they died and show to people forever that the man who is in the pyramids had a great authority. Kings used to have a lot more authority than now at the time. So the authority of king Tutankhamen was as big as the pyramid. There are also symbols of authority now. The White House in Washington D.C is the symbol of the president in U.S.A. The president is a only person who may live in white house. White house symbolize the president of U.S.A to the world. People who have a power show their authority by symbols at any time.
